The Avon Ice Touring Winter Tyre contains a silica compound that not only gives extra traction on wet and snow-covered surfaces, but it is also resistant to cold temperatures and this is important to keep the tread blocks flexible enough to provide the best possible road holding and to clear snow from between the grooves of the tyre.
This tyre also benefits from Avon's patented 'Snow Groove', which is a circumferential groove that is serrated on its inner surface for extra traction on snowy roads.
